As per UN DESA communication, please note that submission of written statements by NGOs in General and Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC to the fifty-ninth session of the Commission on Population and Development (13-17 April 2026) is now open and closes on 1 December 2025. Only the first twenty (20) statements received by 1 December 2025 will be processed by the UN Secretariat and published as formal documents that will be posted on the session’s webpage.
The special theme of the session is: “Population, technology and research in the context of sustainable development”. Written statements, to be circulated as official documents for consideration of the Commission can be submitted by email at cpdngo@un.org using the template provided via this link.
Please note that registration of NGO representatives for the 59th session, submission of requests for oral statements and participation in interactive panels will open in early 2026. Detailed information will be sent prior to the opening of registration and posted on the Commission’s website.
