A paramedic, age 33, got involved with a single woman while he was married, having met her on holiday in 2021. They stayed in touch afterwards. In March 2023, she discovered she was pregnant with his baby. He reportedly gave her crushed medical abortion pills through a syringe at two different times, which caused her to faint after the second time, while having a shower, and then later to abort the pregnancy.
He pleaded with her not to go to the police – and also tried to buy her silence with gifts. But she eventually reported him to the Scottish Ambulance Service, having recorded a conversation with him effectively confessing. He was arrested and, after he admitted to his guilt, was warned by a judge at the High Court in Glasgow that he faced a lengthy jail-term. He will be sentenced next month.

I am sharing it only to note that in the early days of the abortion pills, fears were expressed that this kind of violation of women’s bodies would become a common occurrence. That has NOT happened. I believe this is only the second or perhaps third such case I have heard about in several decades.]
