Protection of the rights of the child and 2030 agenda for sustainable development

Human Rights Council resolution 31/7 of 23 March 2016 requests the OHCHR to prepare a report on this matter, in consultation with all relevant stakeholders, for submission to its thirty-fourth session. The resolution further requests that this report provide information for the next annual day of discussion on the rights of the child, which will focus on the same theme.Your contributions are invited for the report of the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on the protection of the rights of the child in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.In formulating your inputs, you are invited to consider, as appropriate, the following questions:

  1. What key lessons learned from the experience of implementing the Millennium Development Goals should be taken into account to ensure that the rights of the child are protected in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development?
  1. What approaches to implementing the 2030 Agenda would ensure the protection of the rights of all children, and that no child is left behind? Please define your response in relation to the following areas:
  2. Equality and non-discrimination
  3. Investing in children
  4. Partnerships for implementation
  5. Accountability and monitoring
  6. Other relevant considerations
