- About us — We are a grassroots, independent social movement. The National Women’s Strike was born in 2016 on the wave of fierce opposition to the barbaric anti-abortion project. Black Monday on October 3, 2016, followed by a series of “black protests” in more than 200 cities in Poland and abroad, gave rise to a new civic force.
- The National Women’s Strike was part of a series of women’s protests in various countries – not long after us, Korean women, Russian women and women from many Latin American countries, for example, took to the streets. This is how the International Women’s Strike was born, a coalition of women from over 60 countries around the world.
- Black Friday on March 23, 2018 and finally the #ToJestWojna uprising in response to the announcement of a total ban on abortion in Poland on October 22, 2020 – the largest mass protest in our country since the political changes in 1989 – also went down in history. On October 30, 2020, over 100 thousand people demonstrated in Warsaw alone.
- Taking to the streets of Polish cities and towns and shouting NO to the ban on abortion, Polish citizens demanded not only reproductive rights – they also demanded full rights in all areas of life.
- It is in the women’s movement that the only hope for a Poland for all, democratic, safe, European, is seen.
- Nothing can stop our rebellion against patriarchy and neo-fascism.
- We fight for human rights and the rule of law by mobilizing in over 150 cities in Polish – 90% of them are towns with less than 50 thousand inhabitants, which is our greatest strength and pride.
