This ground-breaking report was authored by Terry McGovern, JD, Harriet and Robert H Heilbrunn Professor, Columbia University, with team members Malia Maier, Nicolette Naylor, Alexanne Neff, and Clare McNerney from Columbia’s Global Health Justice and Governance Program.

The High-Level Commission, established on 17 September 2020, is charged with keeping the enormous list of 1,250 commitments to women’s health and rights – made at the November 2019 Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 – on track. The Commission will monitor and report on progress towards fulfilling the commitments, particularly those contained in the Nairobi Statement on ICPD25. It will also make recommendations for removing bottlenecks so that the sexual and reproductive health and rights community maintains its momentum towards a world of rights and choices for all. The Commission is chaired by H.E. Mr. Jakaya Kikwete, Former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, and H.E. Michaëlle Jean, 27th Governor General of Canada. Members include former heads of state and grassroots activists and youth.

The report is 200 pages and is online in EN and FR along with details of all the commitments, the members of the Commission, the latest news, and the history of the summit in Nairobi.
