Evelyne Opondo calls for implementation of the Constitution to end preventable deaths from unsafe abortions, marking 11 years since the Constitutional Court promulgated the Constitution of Kenya 2010, a supreme order that ushered the promise of reproductive rights autonomy, including abortion care, that has still not materialised.

l’Evenement’(Happening) about an illegal abortion wins best film in Venice

The French film, “Happening” (L’événement), by director Audrey Diwan, a hard-hitting drama about illegal abortion in France in the 1960s, has won the Golden Lion award for best film at the Venice festival this month.
