ABORTION IN SIGN LANGUAGE – Two videos explaining “abortion” and “pro-choice” in sign language

The Asia Safe Abortion Partnership (ASAP) has released two videos on YouTube explaining two abortion terms in sign language. The first video, which they released in 2021, explains the meaning of “pro-choice”. It was created by the Youth Advocacy Network Sri Lanka, one of ASAP’s Country Advocacy Networks.

The second video, which they released this year, explains the meaning of “abortion” in sign language.
It was created by YoSHAN Nepal, their Country Advocacy Network in Nepal, in collaboration with local sign language interpreters. The video explains why denial of abortion services is an infringement of human rights and bodily autonomy.

The videos can be accessed here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFaGAuewwiM – this is pro-choice in sign language

They write that they hope you find these videos useful and that they help in making the concept of pro choice and abortion as a human right accessible to more people. Do let ASAP know if you have any feedback or suggestions, as this year they will be continuing to release these videos explaining more SRHR terms and phrases.
