Africans between the ages of 15 and 35, our target demography at One Life Initiative in Nigeria, constitute 5.5% of the world’s population. That’s about 450 million youths. A massive number. Transforming their lives and communities has to be a global priority, else the result of ignoring this is better imagined. Joining the Afe Babalola Centre for Transnational Education at King’s College London on the Transformative Education for Young Africans and for Africa presented us an opportunity to share our ideas at the plenary on our insights into employment needs for young people in Nigeria.
Having one of our volunteers join the meeting physically was also a win for us. It was our volunteer’s first time on a train ride and a first time on the campus of the University of Lagos. More impressive was the quality of her participation at the event.
