MEXICO – Strategies for attending to sexual and reproductive rights during the Covid-19 pandemic: lessons from Mexico for the region

Webinar organised by Equidad de Genero, Ciudadania, Trabajo y Familia (Gender Equity, Citizenship, Work and Family), with the support of the Latin American & Caribbean Womens Health Network (RSMLAC). In Spanish, with the following speakers and topics:

– Valeria García Gaona, psychologist, activist and feminist, who shares the issue of safe abortion during the Covid-19 pandemic in a conservative context such as that which exists in the state of Puebla, as well as the importance of providing women with information on pregnancy termination and generating support networks.

– Bertha Miranda Rodríguez, feminist and teaching lawyer, who discusses the importance of inter-institutional work for the care of women in the establishment of violence or abortion with a gender perspective, in the state of Hidalgo.

– Patricia López Romero, educator in human sexuality and social worker, describing her experience in the management of a telephone line for those seeking legal and safe abortion in Mexico, as well as the increase in requests for information as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
