The International Campaign for Women’s Right to Safe Abortion disseminated eye-catching and accessible infographics on various aspects of a woman’s right to abortion, reaching over 40,000 Twitter users. The visuals contained messages such as:
• ONE IN THREE WOMEN HAS AN ABORTION IN HER LIFETIME. WE’RE YOUR MOTHER, YOUR DAUGHTER, YOUR SISTER, YOUR PARTNER. WE ARE YOU!
• Accept the global reality of ‘self-help’ abortions. Early abortion with mifepristone and misoprostol (or misoprostol alone) is easy and safe.
• No woman should be obliged to continue an unwanted pregnancy.
• 5.3 out of every 1,000 women aged 15-44 in developing regions were treated for complications resulting from unsafe procedures.
The campaign wrote in both in English and Spanish, and suggested themes on abortion to engage with on International Safe Abortion Day.
