Firmar la legalización de interrupción de embarazo por violación en menores de 14 años
En los últimos 10 años, 16 mil 400 niñas menores de 14 años, han dado a luz debido a embarazos productos de violación. Este problema está más cerca de lo que creemos, podría ser nuestra hija, nuestra sobrina, nuestra prima… en fin, cualquier niña de nuestra familia.
Un agresor puede ser: un padrastro, un tío, algún amigo de la familia, nuestro vecino. Casi siempre son personas cercanas con quienes las niñas tienen mucha confianza, se sienten seguras a su lado y hasta les quieren genuinamente o representan una figura de autoridad a la que se debe respetar, como un maestro, por ejemplo.
Éstas personas conocen muy bien las actividades de la niña y su familia, es inevitable que lo conozcan pues tienen una relación muy cercana con todo el círculo familiar. Pero saben de primera mano cuándo se encuentra la niña más vulnerable, pues conoce su rutina, sus carencias y la forma en que expresan sus emociones. Cuando han construido esa relación donde la niña reconoce el poder que tienen frente a ellas, atacan.
Las violentan cada vez que tienen oportunidad, pueden incluso golpearlas o amenazarlas de muerte. Es una tortura que ninguna persona merece vivir, mucho menos una niña. Como si esto no fuera suficiente, algunas niñas contraen enfermedades de transmisión sexual y otras quedan embarazadas.

Sabiendo todo lo que sufren en el proceso y en las consecuencias de una violación sexual, ¿te parece justo que las niñas tengan que vivir el trauma de hacerse cargo del fruto de su violación? ¿Te parece que deben ser ellas responsables por el resultado de un delito? Pensarlo es muy duro…
Lo menos que podemos hacer es darles la opción de interrumpir un embarazo por medio de la despenalización del aborto en casos de embarazo por violación. La interrupción del embarazo en casos de violación a menores de 14 años, garantiza que las niñas decidan si quieren o no ser madres y asegura su derecho a vivir la infancia que les corresponden y su derecho a tener un proyecto de vida.
Para darles la oportunidad de decidir, firma por la aprobación de la interrupción del embarazo producto de violación en niñas menores de 14 años. Si firmán a favor y compartís, podríamos disminuir la tasa de maternidad infantil y las complicaciones económicas y sociales que esto conlleva.

Sign the petition to support the legalization of abortion resulting from rape of girls up to the age of 14 years
In the last ten years, 16,400 girls under the age of 14 years have given birth following pregnancies due to rape in Nicaragua. This problem is more common than most people think. It could be our daughter, our niece, our cousin… or any child in our family.
The abuser may be a stepfather, an uncle, a friend of the family, a neighbour. It is almost always someone close, in whom a girl has a lot of confidence, feels safe with, or is even a respected authority figure, such as a teacher.
These men are aware of the movements of the girl and her family, because they have a close relationship with the family. They get to know the girl’s routine and when she is most vulnerable, and how she expressed her emotions. When such a man has built a relationship where the girl recognizes the power he has over her, then he attacks and violates her at every opportunity, even threatening her with death if she tells anyone. It is a form of torture that no one deserves to experience, let alone a child. As if this were not enough, some girls get sexually transmitted diseases and get pregnant.

Knowing all of this, do you think it is fair that girls not only have to live with the trauma but also take responsibility for the child resulting from the abuse? Do you think they should be responsible for the result of this crime? To think so is very harsh…
The least we can do is to give them the option to terminate the pregnancy through the decriminalization of abortion in cases of pregnancy resulting from rape. Permitting abortion in cases of rape up to the age of 14 years ensures that the girl can decide whether or not she wants to be a mother and her right to live her childhood and have her own life project.
