May 28 2026 – International Day of Action for Women’s Health

Dear Campaign Partners,

Thank you for being part of this year’s May 28 – International Day of Action for Women’s Health campaign: “Essential, Not Optional: Strengthening Health Systems to Uphold Health Rights and SRHRJ in Times of Polycrisis.

Together, we championed the call to recognize sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice as essential, not optional. Across countries and communities, organizations, activists, healthcare providers, young leaders, and feminist movements came together to amplify calls for stronger health systems that uphold health rights and SRHRJ in times of polycrisis.

As we begin documenting the collective impact of this year’s campaign, we invite you to share your campaign activities, stories, reflections, photos, and achievements. Your contributions will help us produce the 2026 May 28 Global Campaign Report, highlighting the strength, diversity, and global reach of our movement.

This year’s campaign emphasized that sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice must remain central to resilient, equitable, and people-centred health systems.

Developed collectively by organizations, feminist networks, activists, and social justice movements worldwide, the campaign highlighted how overlapping crises, including climate change, conflict, economic instability, and anti-rights backlash, continue to undermine access to healthcare and fundamental rights.

If you organized or co-organized a May 28 activity, WGNRR invites you to share your campaign actions, stories, photos, and reflections. Your submission will help us document the global impact of this year’s campaign and celebrate the collective power of our movement.
