NIGERIA – Gender Equality Club Nigeria (GECN)

Dear International Campaign for Women’s Right to Safe Abortion,

Warm greetings from the Gender Equality Club Nigeria.

We kindly request consideration for a spotlight feature in your newsletter on our ongoing project:

GiveHerOne Pad: Tackling Menstrual Waste and Empowering Girls in Gboko

On 1 & 20 May, 2026- Day 4 of the project, we successfully conducted a menstrual hygiene workshop at Isien Rock Innovation College and Masatadi International Academy, reaching 103 students (both girls and boys). The session focused on menstrual hygiene management, breaking harmful cultural norms, and promoting open discussions around menstruation. Notably, the engagement of male students highlighted a positive shift toward inclusivity and awareness.

As we approached Menstrual Hygiene Day (28 May 2026), we believe sharing this story through your platform will amplify community-led efforts to combat menstrual stigma and promote safe, informed practices among young people.

We would be honored to have this initiative featured and are happy to provide any additional information if needed.

Thank you for your continued advocacy and support.

Kind regards,
Ms. Favour Gbilekaa
