As a supporter of our mission, you know that pro-choice Catholics are the majority. And if you’re a Catholic or former Catholic, you’re probably also familiar with the initial shame and hesitation that can come with holding these values.
The stigma of being a pro-choice Catholic can be stifling, especially when it feels like you’re the only one, isolated from your community and Catholic leaders.
But the truth is: You are not alone.
In the U.S., 63% of Catholics believe abortion should be legal in all or most cases, and 1 in 4 abortion patients is Catholic. Your story might be similar to the person sitting next to you in the pews on Sunday morning.
Sharing your story might give someone the courage to speak up about their values, the love they need on the morning of their abortion, or the peace they’ve been seeking for decades. Giving testimony about pro-choice Catholicism is one of the most powerful things you can do.
It’s why we created the Story Center for Pro-Choice Catholic Testimony.
