Pro-Choice Catholic Testimony Story Center
“I’m a practicing Catholic who teaches Sunday school, and I have had two abortions late in pregnancy.”
“I am an abortion provider. I am Catholic. I am pro-choice because I am Catholic.”
“I believe in love, mercy, forgiveness inclusion, and peace. I trust in God. And I trust women. I pray my church will too – and soon.”
Since then, we’ve received hundreds of stories from advocates around the world. We’ve heard from people mourning a pregnancy loss who thank God for the abortion care that helped them survive it. We’ve heard from parishioners in anti-abortion communities who found the courage to speak out. It has been an honor to receive each and every one of the stories you’ve shared.
This week, anti-abortion agitators will descend on Washington, D.C., for the so-called “March for Life,” where they’ll continue spreading false narratives about Catholicism and abortion. But your testimonies make it clear: Faithful Catholics have abortions.
I invite you to explore the Story Center and share your story today. Tell us: Why do you support abortion access? In the years since the Dobbs decision, sharing stories of faith and abortion has become critical. Whenever I’m supporting a Catholic through an abortion experience, I recommend visiting the Story Center. By sharing your stories, you’ve helped spread the most important truth of all: We are not alone. Here’s to a lifetime of encountering, educating, and emboldening pro-choice Catholic experiences.
