
The UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (APPG) invites short written submissions from interested organisations and individuals on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and CONFLICT
This APPG advocates for the full implementation of the International Conference on Population and Development Programme of Action and holds that universal access to contraceptive and SRHR services are paramount, including in conflict-affected/fragile situations.
Members of Parliament are looking for written evidence that addresses SRHR and CONFLICT. Particularly welcome are written evidence and case studies from Afghanistan, Gaza, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Haiti and Ukraine, highlighting main SRHR challenges and solutions. Focus areas for presentations are:
1.Current landscape of SRHR in Conflict – SRHR data, evidence and challenges
2.Gender-based violence (GBV) and SRHR in conflict – GBV as a weapon of war, sex trafficking and child marriage
3.SRHR Services for GBV – Justice and Accountability
4.SRHR Healthcare – Reaching the most marginalised
5.Collaboration/partnerships for universal SRHR in Conflict
6.Survivors stories
7.International and national obligations and strategic directions
8.Recommendations and solutions for SRHR in Conflict – Immediate and long-term goals
Submissions: Written evidence should be submitted by email in a Word document to Mette Kjaerby at: kjaerbym@parliament.uk and be no longer than 3,000 words.
Deadline to send written submissions: 19 February 2025
Submissions must contain the name, organisation and contact details of the submitting person(s)/organisation, including an e-mail address.
Presentation of submissions: Please note that written submissions/evidence may be posted on the APPG’s website following the hearings and select organisations/individuals will be asked to give oral evidence on 24 or 26 February, 4-6pm — or 3 and 5 March, 4-6pm, in the House of Lords, UK Parliament, Westminster, London SW1A 0PW, UK.
