DONORS – Donors Delivering for SRHR

This report is an accountability tool that tracks the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)’s Development Assistance Committee (DAC) donor disbursements to sexual and reproductive health & rights (SRHR), family planning (FP), and reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH). It looks at donors’ total investments but also puts these into perspective by looking at their share of overall Official Development Assistance (ODA) dedicated to these three areas. The 2025 edition of the report presents data from 2021–2023.

Here is some of the good and bad news from the 2025 report:

  • Despite a 4% increase in total ODA in 2023, global funding for sexual and reproductive health and rights dropped.
  • Although some fluctuation is normal, and might be related to timing of bigger pledges, the latest report shows a worrying 27% decrease in SRHR funding – a drop from $14.8 (2022) to $10.8 billion (2023).
  • The good news is that, at the same time, more than half of the donors increased their SRHR funding in 2023.
