The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) in Thailand says it is trying to track down a senior doctor in Nakhon Pathom province who has been selling abortion pills through 27 websites online for 5-6 years, with total sales of about 600 million baht (about US$17 million).Nithit Phurikhup, DSI director for cyber crime, said on Friday the doctor led a gang that sold Cytolog and MTPill tablets, which he claims have been known to cause the deaths of some users. DSI officials had already searched eight premises and arrested three suspects. “Interrogators are seeking a warrant for the arrest of the senior doctor,” he said. “The number of buyers of these drugs is rising. Each month 2,000-3,000 people have ordered these abortion pills online, and this is a big concern,” he said.
