GERMANY: A petition calling on the German Bundestag (parliament) to make a revision to Paragraph 219, which covers abortion.

7 November 2017. It is illegal for abortion providers to inform the public that they provide abortion care. *Update Doctor Kristina Hänel was fined €6000 by an anti-abortion judge in spite of the petition garnering 155,000+ signatures.

BOLIVIA: Call on the Senate to approve the Article 153 bill: @Senadobolivia

10 October 2017. Article 153 on abortion in the draft criminal code was approved on September 28 in the Chamber of Deputies of the Legislative Assembly of Bolivia. KENYA: Support Justice Njoki Ndungu’s call to clarify Constitutional law on abortion

July 2017. TICAH, Trust for Indigenous Culture and Health, in Nairobi is kindly requesting signatures on their petition to call on Supreme Court Chief Justice David Maraga to support Lady Justice Njoki Ndungu’s call to the judges to clarify the clause in the Constitution on abortion in Kenya. Lack of clarity in the law pushes women and girls who otherwise qualify for legal and safe abortion to die due to unsafe abortion. Every year, more than 120,000 women face postabortion complications. The law remains unclear to many women and health care providers. Read more here.
