Two surveys of people’s views on changing the abortion law on the Isle of Man were recently conducted. The one was in fact a consultation by the island’s government. ISLE OF MAN – Responses to public consultation on the Abortion Reform Bill 2017

  Following permission in January 2017 to bring forward a private members bill, member of the Isle of Man parliament Dr Alex Allinson asked for feedback on the draft Abortion Reform Bill between 7 July and 18 September 2017. The Bill proposes changes to the Act to offer women access on request up to 14 weeks, and changes to the grounds for access beyond 14 weeks. ISLE OF MAN – Isle of Man abortion bill: Nearly 3,000 responses submitted in consultation

  Nearly 3,000 responses have been submitted in an online public consultation on proposed changes to Manx abortion laws, which closed on 18 September. The draft Abortion Reform Bill 2017 would allow terminations to be carried out in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy and loosen restrictions thereafter.
