This includes using data and evidence to to support advocacy, improve the provision of comprehensive sexuality education, increase access to sexual and reproductive health services, formulate and implement policies to protect young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, and address the needs of the most vulnerable groups of young people. They also teach how to use data to identify and describe specific issues in adolescent sexual and reproductive health in their work, and guide participants on what to do when data are missing, how to look for alternative sources of data, and advocate for data collection.The toolkit works as a supplement to the guide. In non-technical language, it defines 70 indicators that measure need for adolescent sexual and reproductive health information and services. Its purpose is to train advocates of adolescent sexual and reproductive health how best to utilize data in their work with accuracy and confidence, and how to harness data to improve the lives of young people.The toolkit contains instructions for facilitating a two-day workshop, includes handouts, worksheets, and slides that articulate the main concepts in the guide for educators, youth advocates, and advocacy organizations both in-country and globally.
