Recommendations for the use of mifepristone and misoprostol for inducing abortion and for managing incomplete abortion are contained in the 2012 WHO guideline Safe abortion: technical and policy guidance for health systems. Evidence related to home use of medication and self-assessment is included in the 2015 WHO guideline Health worker roles in providing safe abortion and post-abortion contraception.

WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION – Global Abortion Policies Database: a descriptive analysis of the legal categories of lawful abortion

Texts and interpretations on the lawfulness of abortion and associated administrative requirements can be vague and confusing. It can also be difficult for a woman or provider to know exactly where to look for and how to interpret laws on abortion. To increase transparency, the Global Abortion Policies Database (GAPD), launched in 2017, facilitates the strengthening of knowledge and understanding of the complexities and nuances around lawful abortion as explicitly stated in laws and policies.

EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT – Sexual and reproductive health rights and the implication of conscientious objection

The study aims to provide a comparative overview of the situation in the European Union, with particular focus on six selected Member States – Czech Republic, Croatia, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Sweden – in terms of access to sexual and reproductive healthcare goods (such as medicines) and services (such as abortion and family planning), from both legal and practical perspectives.

GHANA – Health ambassadors’ club initiated at the Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind

BELGIUM – A new law to record the death and bury a fetus of 20+ weeks’ gestation
